Dover Castle

Two weeks ago, on a sunny Saturday, Fuh Yong, Evelyn, Francis, YL and I hopped on to the bus chartered by Goodenough College to visit the Dover Castle and the famous Dover White Cliffs. However when we realised that the cliffs are a 4km walk from the castle, where we were dropped off, we wisely gave it a miss and spent our afternoon wandering around Dover Castle instead.

One of the castle's main attraction is the Secret Wartime Tunnels used by the British military to execute its World War II attack plans and to mastermind the evacuation of 300,000 of its troops from Dunkirk in France. It was an impressive network consisting of offices, accommodation, kitchens, mess halls, a hospital, and a Post Office, among other facilities.

Hot days

We had extremely hot and stuffy weather the last few days, and Sophie had to go naked, even for her naps.

Karipap picnic (aka Greenwich IV)

Yes! We finally made it back to Greenwich and completed the grand tour of the cluster of buildings that is designated UNESCO World Heritage Site on a scorching hot sunny Saturday. In this final leg, we covered the Painted Hall, St Paul & St Peter's Chapel and the Queen's House, all very nice and grand, thank you.

Outside the St Paul and St Peter's Chapel. You can see Sophie's first teeth peeping through.

Actually the visit was an excuse to have a little picnic at Greenwich Park consisting of........ [drumrolls]....FOUR CURRYPUFFS....! Yes, four homemade obscenely gigantic curry puffs. And a bottle of water. Sophie had milk. (Of course). Yup, that was the highlight of the afternoon.
Baba's feeding time

And now, since we are in the perfect setting, let's go for a bit of Bollywood action!

That was tiring....let's stone for a while

Thereafter, we trotted home to catch the England vs Portugal match, and to see how England gets kicked off the World Cup. (Our condolences to the England fans)
