Sophie the Baker

All ready to startDecorating the cereals that would go on top of the chocolate scones

All done!

Sophie went to a children's baking workshop last weekend and made some chocolate scones with 10 other kids. Actually, the ingredients were all already weighted out into bowls, and her Mamma did most of the hard work, but at least she helped.

The workshops are held every weekend by Bakerzin and costs S$48 per child.

We packed the scones for her to share with her friends in school the following Monday. She came home telling us excitedly that it was a success with her friends who "ate a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot"...

Which car?

We are currently shopping for a car, and our conversation every night inevitably revolved around which make, which model, what budget, etc.

Yesterday YL threw this question to Sophie:

Baba: "Sophie, so what car should we get? A Ferrari, or a Lamborghini?"
Sophie: "Erm...I think you should get a Macaroni".

So a Macaroni it is, then.

Double Happiness

Sis-in-law and I are both expecting, and the most pleasant twist is that we are both due on the same date :) How is that for coincidence?

Happy Birthday Gong Gong!

We headed back to KL over the weekend to celebrate Gong Gong's birthday. Kau Fu Chai (mother's younger brother - or uncle - in Cantonese) recommended a small contemporary Chinese restaurant in Bangsar Village 2.

I have not been to Bangsar in....years. The area has changed so much. My brain was buzzing trying to recall what used to be in each spot. Sweet memories, that place.

The Chans and Soongs

These two pictures of the grandmas and grandpas were taken by Sophie. Notice how naturally, beamingly happy they were to pose for her. So much nicer than when YL and I, their own direct flesh and blood, take their pictures. Humph!

This is my Baba

This is what YL looks like to Sophie.

Such an uncanny resemblance, don't you think?
Notice the pains she took to depict his shirt buttons...
