New nursery

Sophie started nursery yesterday, and YL and I took turns to spend the day there with her to get her adjusted.

Midlife ahoy!

You know you are approaching the borders of mid-life when when you look forward to getting your washing machine more than your 40" LCD High Definition TV.

Our new TV was delivered on Friday. We spent half an hour fiddling with the buttons on the remote and watching half a movie before getting bored. Our new washing machine is to be delivered this afternoon, and we are already rubbing our hands in glee like little schoolchildren on a day out.

Baba's little girl

What she has been up to

1. Charming her grandparents, aunties & uncles

2. Hanging out with pals Cayden & Tik Chu.
Do you how difficult it is to take a picture of 3 toddlers who REALLY, REALLY cannot sit still for 2 seconds? That's why this group photo has to be split into two (above & below).

3. Eating. Err...actually, nibbling. On broccoli. That's practically all she eats.

4. Visiting the dentist. Gave his thumbs up.
(Me: *Of course* it's a thumbs up. She's two, for goodness' sake! She doesn't even have all her teeth yet!
YL: Just check, lah...just in case)

5. Hanging out with Baba and Loopy the dog

6. Hanging out with Yiyi (aunt in Cantonese)

The last days

During our last 2 weeks in London, we (mostly me) dashed around the city in a last ditch attempt to "cover" London. It was, of course, a futile exercise. There is still so much left to see and do. Oh well, we just have to return another time ;)

Meanwhile, here's a sample of the things we saw and did:

Sculpture outside the Tate Modern art gallery, just across the Thames from St. Paul's Church. What constitutes as modern art is err...really...creative. OK, OK, let's be honest here. After my visit to Tate Modern, I surmised that modern art is crap. You just have to go and see for yourself.

London is an absolutely exciting city. Doesn't the topic of the talk above excites you to no end?!

Bye bye everyone! Gotta catch my train to Hogwarts!

To bid farewell to our fantastic kakis (buddies) in London, we treated everyone to afternoon tea at the Ritz London. It was so posh we had no idea what we were supposed to do, what we cannot touch, or what we can eat. Food was excellent, as far as sandwiches and scones go. The setting was of course, unbeatable.

Kept looking around for celebrities but I don't think it's in my luck to meet them. I have lived in London for 2 years and even though celebrities literally trawl the streets of London on a daily basis, I have never so much as laid my eyes on anyone remotely connected to the entertainment business. Not even those despicable Big Brother wierdos.

There is a dress code at the Ritz; hence our normally handsome partners definitely stole the limelight that night in their suits...erhem...<clear throat>

Japan in Summer

By now, I have travelled to Japan 3 times, which puts it in the leading position on par with China as the country that I have visited the mo...
