Aileen's Birthday

We celebrated Aileen's **th birthday (it's no big secret lah, but if you don't know her age, see if you can make out the number in the banner in the background) at our place on Saturday with a marathon steamboat session that started at 1pm and lasted for more than 3 hours.

Well, actually the first hour was spent waging battle against some 20-odd fresh oysters that Christine & Kit Mun had purchased at the Billingsgate Fish Market that morning. You should have seen the war zone! Oysters being hacked - literally - and whacked and beaten by Francis, Christine, Kit Mun & YL. (I video-taped the evidence while Aileen stepped in as nanny for a while) Anyways, we left enough space in our tummies for the birthday cake (aka roast lamb) which is a delicious chocolate almond flavour.

And what better way to work off all that food but to engage in a rowdy game of Cranium? Well, erhem....you can guess who the winners are:

Oh come on.....how can anyone possibly beat my model of 'Saturn' or YL's act of 'reproducing' or Aileen's powerful 'spring rolls'?? Except, of course, maybe Francis' porn-ish act of 'reproducing'....

Cranium didn't satisfy our thirst for games and we continued with the Lord of the Rings' version of Risk. Reading the manual took me a good hour but that was alright when the 3 teams took that full hour to decide on where to place their battalions!! Oh come on.... let's get started already! More whacking ensued throughout the night, and the victors - birthday girl Aileen and her trusty right-hand man, Francis (or maybe it was the other way round) - finally emerged at 10:30pm.

Sophie stayed up with us until all the guests left. She was having too much fun with so many playmates.
