From Fog City to the Lion City

Hi people!

We're back!! It's been a over a month since my last post. I've spent it constructively: travelling back to Malaysia, getting reacquainted with old friends, exchanging gossips with family, regaling them with our stories of Peru, doing our rounds of visiting during Chinese New Year, tossing yu sang (a sort of raw fish salad eaten during the Chinese New Year in Malaysia & Singapore) non-stop, gorging ourselves on good food, and, of course, making up for lost time with Sophie. It seems that she's been happily engaged in KL during our absence entertaining her grandparents, aunties and uncles. They, of course, indulge her in everything. Sigh! More pampering to undo.

It seemed like a lifetime ago that we were in London. Now we've moved back to Singapore and is settling down temporarily in Tiong Bahru. Much has changed in Singapore. New buildings and businesses mushroom up as fast as KL's highways. The economy was doing spectacularily well during the last two years we were away, and although there are whispers that things are quietening down, I think that prosperity is going to linger for a while.
