Statue

Sophie was mimicking the statue in the background without us noticing. We then persuaded her to do it again for the camera.

Managers are as good as Doctors!

After dinner, Sophie passed me her lollipop which we promised she could have after she finished her rice. Struggling to get the wrapper off, I dug, and peeled, and turned it round and round to get a grip.

Sophie waited patiently for a while, then quipped, "Managers* cannot open lollipop, is it? Maybe we need a Doctor."

Bengang! (stunned and speechless in Malay)

Thank you Mamma

Children really spring surprises when you least expect them.

After her bedtime stories and songs, I said good night to Sophie, to which she replied, "Thank you Mamma, for cooking the rice for me today."

Beach Boys

During the Christmas/New Year stretch, YL had a bright idea for an impromptu picnic at East Coast. He throw leftovers from the Christmas/New Year parties together, and voila! that was our picnic lunch at the beach.

YL is always up to no good on the days we get out of our routine. Sophie is inevitably his partner in crime. See example below:

Here they are, apparently posing for an innocent photo.

In fact, it was a ruse to get Mamma close enough to bombard her with sand.

New Home

If you haven't heard already, we have finally bought our first asset (hopefully) a few months ago. It is now under renovation and the move-in date have been fixed to 6 February.

Whenever we make trips to the site, Sophie keeps herself busy by volunteering to take measurements. And in case you are wondering, no, she is not a PCK (a popular Singaporean TV character who is a contractor) in the making...she doesn't actually know how to do it properly.

The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plains

After I hit the last note in Twinkle Twinkle Little Star during Sophie's bedtime one night, she turned around and said "Mamma, it's not "lil". Only Little Einsteins say that!", referring to the American accent spoken in the pre-school programme.

"It's li-TT-le, Mamma!"

Amused, embarrassed and proud.

Yes, I have been making tiny bits of effort to teach her the difference between American and British pronounciation. She knows it should be "war-Ter" and "dahnce" instead of "war-Ner" or "daynce". Now I'm proud to say that she even knows how to extrapolate it to other words.

Children are amazing.

At the Zoo with Friends

All set for the zoo!My best friend when it comes to mischief and play
At the Kidzworld wet play area

Here we go again, Josh!

KFC and the zoo are synonymous (even in Malaysia, isn't it?)

We spent a morning out at the Singapore Zoo with Aunty Su-En and Josh, and Amelie who tagged along. The main target was the new Kidzworld water play area. Sophie had a blast dashing about getting drenched with her Baba. Was in an extremely anti-social mood, though, and refused to play with Josh or Amelie.

Japan in Summer

By now, I have travelled to Japan 3 times, which puts it in the leading position on par with China as the country that I have visited the mo...
